A recent gathering in Madrid brought together community leaders, artists and experts in coexistence to celebrate the World Day for Cultural Diversity. The round table included Clarisa Nieva of the Bahá’í Community of Spain, Fernando Hernández of the Madrid Municipal Police Diversity Management Unit, flamenco artist Tito Losada, a Roma guitarist and composer, and Denise González. Speakers presented different experiences and viewpoints on how mutual knowledge can help build more inclusive communities.
During the event, participants addressed themes such as human rights, cultural identity and respect for differences. Fundación Scientology Mejora linked the initiative with Scientology’s interest in education, prevention and civic responsibility. Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to European and international institutions, said that cultural and religious diversity contributes to democratic life when accompanied by mutual understanding and responsibility.
